Indra and Agni are invoked together in a number of Vedic hymns as Indragni, a paired deity joining the king of the gods with the god of fire. Their union yokes sovereign force to transforming energy, strength that knows where to burn. The pairing stands for concentrated, determined power directed toward a goal.

A joint attribution; each deity also presides singly elsewhere, Agni over Krittika and Indra over Jyeshtha.
