Pushan is a solar deity of the Vedic hymns, guardian of roads and journeys, protector of herds, and finder of lost things. He guides travelers, escorts the departed on their final road, and prospers the flocks. He carries the qualities of guidance, nourishment, and gentle care at the end of the way.
