Tvashtar is the craftsman of the gods in the Vedic hymns, the fashioner of forms who shaped Indra's thunderbolt and the bodies of living beings. He presides over artistry, design, and the making of beautiful and well-wrought things. Later tradition often identifies him with Vishvakarman, the all-maker.
