The Vasus are a group of eight Vedic deities associated with the elements and the furnishings of the world, such as earth, fire, wind, water, sky, sun, moon, and the stars, with lists varying by text. Their name is related to the word for wealth and dwelling. They stand for abundance, music and rhythm in later nakshatra lore, and the goods that make a home.
