The Vishvedevas

the all-gods, the assembled deities

TraditionVedic

All the shining ones gathered as one, so that no good power is left out.

The Vishvedevas are the all-gods, the deities invoked together as a complete assembly so that none is omitted from the offering. Whole hymns of the Rigveda address them collectively, and they receive a share in many rites. They stand for universality, completeness, and victory that rests on every power aligned.
