Bhaga is one of the Adityas, the celestial sons of Aditi, and his name means share or fortune. The hymns invoke him as the apportioner of wealth and happiness, the one who deals out each person's portion of the good. He is associated with enjoyment, prosperity, and marital felicity.

Presides over Purva Phalguni .

Some sources swap Bhaga and Aryaman between the two Phalguni nakshatras; the attribution of Bhaga to Purva Phalguni followed here is the more common one.
