Lugh comes to the hall of the Tuatha De Danann in the Irish mythological cycle claiming no single art but all of them: smith, harper, poet, healer, champion. The stories name him samildanach, the many-skilled, and give him a spear that never rested, counted among the tribe's great treasures. When his foster mother Tailtiu died clearing the plains for planting, he founded funeral games in her honor, and that gathering is the first-harvest festival that still carries his name.
