The sea road, and the mist that hides the far shore.

Manannan mac Lir, son of the sea, rides over the waves as other riders take a plain, in the stories crossing on his horse Enbarr or in the boat called Wave Sweeper that needs no sail. He keeps the mist that veils the otherworld from this one and lifts it for those he chooses. On the Isle of Man, which carries his name, tradition paid him a tribute of rushes at midsummer, which is why his gate faces Litha here.
