The Tenth House
The House of Honors and Deeds
The summit of the sky, where the life is seen and judged.
The tenth house is the Midheaven, the culminating angle where planets stand highest above the earth. Tradition reads it as reputation, rank, and authority, the profession and the deeds by which the native is known, and the powers set over them, rulers and superiors. Some Greek writers name it Praxis, action, the house of what one does in the world.
The Sun here lifts the native toward visible honor and command.
Saturn here builds standing slowly and tests it publicly.
Venus here brings favor, and a name made through grace or art.
Mesouranema in Greek, rendered Midheaven; the alternate name Praxis, deeds, is also attested. The assignment of a parent here varies among sources; the father is more commonly given to the fourth.
A house is personal. It exists only in a birth chart, cast from your own horizon at your own hour; the sky holds no tenth house until someone is born under it. The kinship with Capricorn is an analogy of order, not an identity.
