The Fifth House
The House of Children and Delight
Where fortune smiles and life takes pleasure in itself.
The fifth house is Good Fortune, the joy of Venus, governing children, love freely given, feasts, games, and every pleasure that renews rather than depletes. The tradition reads it as one of the fortunate places of the chart, a house of increase, gifts, and glad occasions.
Venus here rejoices, generous in love and in the arts of delight.
Jupiter here multiplies children and glad occasions.
Saturn here can make joy a discipline, or delay the coming of children.
Agathe Tyche in Greek. Its meanings flow from the joy of Venus, the benefic of the night sect placed below the horizon.
A house is personal. It exists only in a birth chart, cast from your own horizon at your own hour; the sky holds no fifth house until someone is born under it. The kinship with Leo is an analogy of order, not an identity.
