The House of the Hidden Enemy

What works unseen, and the solitude where burdens are set down.

The twelfth house is the Bad Spirit, Kakos Daimon, the joy of Saturn. Tradition assigns it hidden enemies, confinement and captivity, exile, sorrow, and self-undoing, along with large animals in some sources. It rises just before the Ascendant yet cannot behold it, and the astrologers read it as the place of what acts on the life from out of sight. Its trials are named plainly so they can be recognized, endured, and in time released.

A house is personal. It exists only in a birth chart, cast from your own horizon at your own hour; the sky holds no twelfth house until someone is born under it. The kinship with Pisces is an analogy of order, not an identity.
