'the he-goat'. It stands at about 21° Gemini (tropical).

The he-goat, mate to Capella, eclipsed once in a generation.

Epsilon Aurigae, Almaaz, means 'the he-goat,' the male counterpart to the she-goat Capella and her Kids. It is one of the strangest stars known, a supergiant eclipsed roughly every twenty-seven years by a vast dark companion, but its traditional astrological lore is slight.

Named for the he-goat beside Capella's flock; little traditional lore beyond that pairing.
