The Fixed Stars
Eta Scorpii
Eta Scorpii
Unnamed, known by its Bayer letter. It stands at about 14° Sagittarius (tropical).
A bend in the tail below the raised coil.
Eta Scorpii is a yellow-white star set low in the descending curve of the Scorpion's tail, brighter than its lack of a proper name would suggest. It is counted among the tail-stars that the Vedic sky gathers into Mula. Little traditional lore attaches to it.
★︎ Nakshatra. Counted among the stars of
Mula, the root.
Little traditional lore attaches to this star; its interest is its place in the tail.
