The caracal, the desert lynx, from the Arabic al-anaq al-ard. It stands at about 14° Taurus (tropical).

The bright foot of the chained princess, a famous gold-and-blue double.

Gamma Andromedae, marking the princess's foot, is one of the finest coloured doubles in the sky, a warm gold star with a blue-green companion. Robson gives no separate delineation for it, so we leave its nature unclaimed.
