Unnamed, known by its Bayer letter. It stands at about 16° Gemini (tropical).

The brightest waypoint on the arc of the raised hide.

Pi4 Orionis sits near the middle of the curved line of the shield, the most luminous of the Pi stars though still modest to the eye, a blue giant whose light is in truth the blended glow of a close pair. Little traditional lore attaches to this star.
