Unnamed, known by its Bayer letter. It stands at about 28° Gemini (tropical).

A near neighbour of the Sun set in the tip of the Hunter's club.

Chi1 Orionis marks the upper end of the club held aloft in Orion's right hand, near where the weapon reaches its height. It is a yellow star not unlike our own Sun and, by the measure of the sky, close to us. Little traditional lore attaches to this star.
