Unnamed, known by its Bayer letter. It stands at about 16° Gemini (tropical).

The lowest star of the raised hide, near the Hunter's hand.

Pi6 Orionis marks the bottom of the arc of the shield or lion's hide, closest to the outstretched arm that holds it up. It is an orange giant, the ruddiest of the Pi stars that trace the curve. Little traditional lore attaches to this star.
