Mu Geminorum, Tejat Posterior

A name of obscure and disputed origin. It stands at about 5° Cancer (tropical).

Mu Geminorum, long called Tejat Posterior, stands with Eta at the foot of the mortal twin; the origin of the name Tejat is obscure and much debated. With Gamma it forms the sixth Arabic mansion Al Han'ah, the brand or mark. It is a red giant of quiet color, a slow variable.
