The Fixed Stars

Dschubba

Delta Scorpii, Isidis in Robson

The forehead of the scorpion, from the Arabic al-jabhah. It stands at about 3° Sagittarius (tropical).

The center of the brow, where the crown of the Scorpion sits steadiest.

Dschubba marks the middle of the Scorpion's forehead, center star of the crown arc that steadies faltering fortunes in the mansion lore. Robson lists it under the name Isidis and gives it the nature of Mars and Saturn, a sudden, forceful star in the old reading. Held with the crown around it, it reads as directness, the forward-facing star that does not flinch.

♂︎ Nature. Mars and Saturn.
☾︎ Mansion. A determinant star of Al Iklil, the crown of the forehead.
★︎ Nakshatra. Counted among the stars of Anuradha, following radha, the subsequent success.

Robson's delineation for this star is severe; the tempering here follows the gentler mansion tradition of Al Iklil, which these same stars determine.
