Gamma Orionis, the Amazon Star

The female warrior, from the Latin. It stands at about 21° Gemini (tropical).

The Amazon at the hunter's other shoulder, quick to win and obliged to hold.

Bellatrix balances Betelgeuse across Orion's shoulders, a hot blue-white star bearing a Latin name, the woman warrior, and the old nickname Amazon Star. Robson gives it the nature of Mars and Mercury, with honors, civil and military, won swiftly, and the caution that what is swiftly won must be carefully kept. It reads as the campaigner's star, decisive and a little restless.
