The Fixed Stars

Almighzal

Eta Cygni

Unnamed, known by its Bayer letter. It stands at about 20° Aquarius (tropical).

A step down the long neck toward the beak.

Eta Cygni sits along the Swan's neck, between the breast-star Sadr and the beak at Albireo, an orange star of no great brightness. It is a marker on the descending line of the neck rather than a figure in its own right. Little traditional lore attaches to it.

Little traditional lore attaches to this star. IAU name Almighzal confirmed on 2026-10-21 against two independent lists, exopla.net and Wikipedia; the IAU bulletin itself was not fetched.
