Unnamed, known by its Bayer letter. It stands at about 1° Gemini (tropical).
A star on the Bull's chest, below the face and the Hyades.
Lambda Tauri lies on the body of the Bull, south and west of the Hyades toward the chest. It is an eclipsing binary whose light dims on a regular cycle as the two stars pass before one another, one of the brighter examples of its kind. Little traditional lore attaches to this star.
