The Fixed Stars
Suudalnujum
Suud al-Nujum, Sadalnashira, Tau Pegasi
From the Arabic su'ud al-nujum, the luck of the stars, or the most fortunate of the stars. It stands at about 27° Pisces (tropical).
The luck of the stars, another of the horse's fortune-names.
Suudalnujum takes its name from the Arabic su'ud al-nujum, the luck or fortune of the stars, one more of the 'sa'd' fortune-names the old Arab astronomers laid across this reach of Pegasus. The name marks the star as one of the lucky company rather than assigning it any settled planetary character. Like its neighbors in the series it carries a fortunate meaning by name and little developed delineation beyond it.
One of the Arabic 'sa'd' lucky-star names; name-meaning of fortune with little formal planetary lore attached.
