Unnamed in the old Western books; Fang is a modern adoption from the Chinese lunar lodge of the Room. It stands at about 3° Sagittarius (tropical).
The crown's lowest jewel, anchoring the arc above the claws.
Pi closes the three-star arc of the Scorpion's crown beneath Graffias and Dschubba, and with them determines the mansion Al Iklil and the nakshatra Anuradha. The name Fang, adopted by modern astronomers, comes from the Chinese lunar lodge in which the star stood, the Room. It has no individual delineation in the Western handbooks, and little traditional lore attaches to it beyond its share in the crown.
